School Counseling Support
American High School provides information and assistance with academic progress, course selection, careers, college searches, scholarships, financial aid, and other post secondary opportunities. Individual guidance and class instruction are provided to assist students in making educational and vocational/career plans. Also, our staff offers personal and social support to students. Students are assigned a dedicated counselor based on the students current grade level.
What can you expect?
Our school counselors are vital members of the education team. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career and college development, ensuring our students become productive and well adjusted adults of tomorrow.
Your school counselors are avaialble by phone, Skype, Live Chat, and Email, Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No matter how you wish to communicate, our counselors will be avaiable during normal business hours.
As school counselors they encourage frequent conversations between home and school. They feel strongly that parents play an integral role in the development of youth and encourage parental involvement throughout high school. They look forward to hearing from family members who have thoughts or concerns about their students’ academic performance, attendance, social functioning in school and preparing for life after high school.
All services provided by our school counselors are free, voluntary and completely confidential except as required by law to the students, families, teachers and school staff.
